Ayu was screened in celebration of the 74th anniversary of Sri Lankan cinema at Savoy Cinema, Wellawatta, on January 22. It is the maiden movie production of General (retired) Daya Rathnayake and the second film directed by Chathra Weeraman after Aloko Udapadi.
After dedicating a moment of silence to remember all those deceased in the field of local cinema, including Sinhala, Tamil, Malay and Muslim directors, producers, actors, actresses, technical and non-technical contributors to the Sri Lankan film industry, a special award of appreciation was presented to the ‘Queen of Sri Lankan Cinema’ Dr. Malani Fonseka for her 155th acting contribution in her illustrious career of over five decades. We always work towards accomplishing this dream and the Management Undergraduates’ Research Session (MURS) is one such initiatives made by the Faculty of Management Studies in 2019 with the aim of assimilating the academia to a research culture by encouraging undergraduates to conduct research in the field of Management Studies. Continuing its excellence, the Faculty successfully conducted the 2nd MURS on 27th November 2020 incorporation with 5th Interdisciplinary Conference of Management Researchers (ICMR). Understanding the timely need of research excellence, the Faculty organized the above conference as a total virtual experience capturing the theme of “Fostering Global Citizenship towards New Normal”.
