The conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has caused a humanitarian crisis in Khartoum. Nearly 1,100 people have been killed since the conflict began in mid-April in the westernmost city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, activists say.
The fighting has spread to the western region of Darfur, but has been concentrated in the capital. The Sudanaese army has now attacked its paramilitary rivals around a hospital that witnesses said was damaged in the bombardment.
Fighting has broken out across Sudan, and it’s not looking good for the American citizens who are currently trapped in the line of fire.
