The home of the Commissioner for Information in Imo State, Declan Emelumba in Ubulu-Ihejiofor community, Oru West local government area of the state has been burnt by unknown gunmen.
Reports from the area said the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the heavily-armed gunmen attacked the compound and set two houses ablaze.
It could not be ascertained if there were casualties from the attack by press time as many residents who fled into the bush during the shooting are yet to return.
A resident said the entire community was thrown into confusion as many ran into the bush to avoid being killed by the attackers.
