Led by Jordan Gainey's 21 points, the South Carolina Upstate Spartans defeated the Western Carolina Catamounts 79-64 on Saturday night. The Catamounts were led by Tyzhaun Claude, who finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Spartans improved to 4-4 with the victory and the Catamounts fell to 4-5.
