After a five-year hiatus, the Arena Football is back for season number 33. Some familiar franchise names are back, along with a few expansion teams and some that played in other indoor and arena leagues last season. Below is a capsule of the 16-team league with early preseason roster analysis.

Up until last Thursday, the players for the Rush had not had any communication from the league as to what their fate was going to be for the rest of the season.
Last season, the Chicago Rush gave up 76 points against the Spokane Shock at home in the Allstate Arena. In that game, Shock wide receiver Adron Tennell put up 10 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown.
Most of the attention this offseason for the Chicago Rush, and deservedly so, has gone toward their ownership debacle. Going from getting a new owner with only months to go prior to the season, the owner getting terminated from the league due to not securing sponsorships or a lease with the Allstate Arena, being taken back over by the league, and then getting another new owner with just five weeks to go before the 2013 season definitely warrants the attention of both the fans and the rest of the league.
