COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a local man on several charges, including residential entry, after he entered a Columbus apartment without permission on Thursday night. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Phoenix Court at 11:45 p.m. When police arrived, they observed the residents attempting to push the suspect out the front door.
After a short struggle with CPD, Tyrrice Degraffenreid, 37, of Columbus was taken into custody. The residents told law enforcement that the suspect knocked on their door and later tried to force his way into the apartment when he saw police arriving.
Officers determined that the man had a local warrant for his arrest. They also allegedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia in his clothing. He was taken to Columbus Regional Health and then to Bartholomew County Jail.
