The family of a woman who was shot and killed at an east Oak Cliff apartment in October is suing the complex and its owners, arguing that they didn’t take enough action to prevent her death.
Precious Alex, mother of the 18-year-old victim, Nakeya Smith, said she has long felt that the complex, The Life at Stone Crest Apartments, needed better lighting and security features to make the complex safer.
