Designed to absorb impacts from potholes, it uses a high-strength fiber material also found in bulletproof vests, and can last up to 80,000 miles. More on Tires The tire, called the Nokian Tyres One, uses Aramid fiber the same material found in spacecraft landing cushions to bolster its sidewalls, protecting against blowouts in high-impact scenarios, such as speed bumps or potholes. Nokian has previously used this tech in its light truck and SUV offerings, but this is the first time it s using it in a passenger vehicle tire.
