A four-meter-long skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus TRX-293 Trinity was sold for $6.1mln at an auction in Zurich on Tuesday, the first time such a lot was offered for sale in Europe.
Promoters said the composite T. rex, dubbed "Trinity," was built from nearly 300 bone specimens retrieved from three sites in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations of Montana and Wyoming.
