institutions, including the fbi. but not limited to the fbi. the d.o.d., the doj, dhs, centers for disease control. all under attack. what is the goal? the goal is to see the american mind with such distrust in our government and institutions that they want to trust only the people who are making stuff up. and what we saw today was making stuff up. stuff about hunter biden that is actually been discounted in terms of the text that was read by matt to gets. and then trying to get the fbi director to comment on pending investigations? sources? methods? they know full well that he cannot. so essentially they were holding him hostage. he did his best to period barrage of attacks today. six hours of relentless assault. . but we never got to the real issues. the fbi does need oversight. it should have oversight.
and they are not sure the public thinks they are credible. that is mission compromising. and that is what is happening. you know, no one wins today in terms of gop, democrats, the fbi, there were no winners today. except you know who? our adversaries. russia and china, and their intelligence services could not pay for this kind of damage to the fbi. they are getting it for free from the gop. wow, what do you think, joyce? well, i think frank is exactly right. when you see this kind of attack on a public servant like chris wray, and you think about who benefits? who benefits? that would be countries that are not our allies. people who do not want to see the american democratic institutions remain strong, people who don t have the best
derided by every fact finder, known under the sun. it s this idea that fbi agents working undercover are responsible for january 6th. please anyone listening, put that down as nuttiness, that was claimed again today. and both of those things could not to be more dubious, let s put it that way. okay, that is what i wanted to follow up on. not enough, carol, it s almost you know, goofy, silly. it is something much more serious than that. i, mean it is dubious, it is devious, wouldn t you say? no one is making this argument about january six by accident. it s a defined conspiracy theory. i m glad you raised that on the follow-up, because i heard both frank and joyce making the very cogent point about an
interests of this country at heart. and it is important to focus on stuff that you focused on at the beginning. director wray. he started his career at the justice department as a line prosecutor. in atlanta he worked his way up from literally that onboarding job that we all take in the justice department when we start out. he served as the head of the doj s criminal division in washington during a republican administration. like every fbi director since j edgar hoover s time he is a republican. a registered republican. so i think what we re seeing here is someone who did not take this job expecting that he would be pummeled from the right, not with legitimate oversight concerns, but with made-up attacks. with conspiracy theories designed to destroy the fbi. it is time for us to call this what it is. it is not just talking about defunding the agency, it is trying to use people in congress to minimize the agency in a way that we have never
you seem deeply and curious about, it don t you? almost suspiciously i m curious, are you protecting the bidens? absolutely not, the fbi you won t answer the question! democrats on the panel asked wray about the fbi search of mar-a-lago, and the classified documents case specifically. he defended the search and he didn t exactly praise how the records were found at trump s resort and exactly how he stormed them. watch this. director wray, a ballroom, a bathroom, a bedroom,. are those appropriate places to store classified confidential information? well again, i don t want to be commenting on the pending case, but i will say that there are specific rules about where to store classified information, and that those need to be stored in a scif. i secure compartmentalized information facility. and in my experience all rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms are not scifs.
