Beverly Armentrout and Catherine Poe of the Julia Bonafield Circle present a baby kit to a Davis Medical Center representative.
ELKINS Each year a group of area women look to welcome a newborn baby into the world with its first-ever Valentine’s Day gift.
The Julia Bonafield Circle, or the Circle 4 as they are also known, annually donates a basket or something similar filled with items for the first infant born at Davis Medical Center on Valentine’s Day.
“There are other circles in the church and one of them does a gift for the Christmas Baby and one does one for the Easter baby,” said Catherine Poe, secretary for the Julia Bonafield Circle. “We take it up to the hospital ahead of time and the nurses give to the mother of the first one born on those special days.”
