Facing concerns about critical race theory, Bermudian Springs School District Superintendent Shane Hotchkiss said the district curriculum will remain unchanged.
âWe have an adopted curriculum aligned with the Pennsylvania state standards and that has been in place for a number of years,â said Hotchkiss. âThe curriculum in social studies and history, K-12, has not changed.â
Critical race theory is a way of thinking about Americaâs history through the lens of racism. Scholars developed it during the 1970s and 1980s in response to what they viewed as a lack of racial progress following the civil rights legislation of the 1960s.
