HUBBARD Raymond J. “Rick” Rice Jr., 69, passed unexpectedly at his home Monday, May 3, 2021. Rick was born Oct. 8, 1951, in Sharon, Pa., to Judge Raymond J. and Doris E. Lohr Rice Sr. Rick graduated from Brookfield High School in 1969, where he participated in band, chorus, chess club, photography club and baseball. Upon graduation, he attended and graduated from Denver Automotive and Diesel College as an automotive technician, eventually returning to the Shenango Valley to ply his trade. He worked for several auto repair shops, eventually opening his own shop for a short time. Rick worked for several years with the Brookfield Township Police Department, advancing from dispatcher to detective sergeant. He was trained and certified in Leads operation and usage, trained in arson investigation, was an authorized instructor in the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program and was trained and authorized to perform breath tests by the Ohio Department of Heath. It's All About Women Entrepreneurship at the next Kootenay Pitch Competition Event

by Contributor on Thursday Apr 08 2021 Host Karen Kornelsen welcomes Kootenay Pitch Competition contestants Terry Van Horn, Sarah Hobbs and Adele Hills. Submitted Since its launch in August 2020, the first ever Kootenay Pitch Competition has helped nine entrepreneurs and startups from across the Kootenay region become investor-ready and take their businesses to the next level. On Thursday, April 8, 2021, the final qualifying event will take place and feature solely women entrepreneurs. Put on by the Kootenay Association for Science & Technology (KAST) and Nelson Innovation Centre, the virtual competition is made up of three qualifying pitch events with a grand finale pitch event where the winners of the three qualifiers battle it out for the grand prize.
