Work is in full swing at the former AMPI facility in Dawson to repurpose it as the flagship facility for Puris to produce plant-based protein. The plant s first production technicians began training this week for their new roles as hiring is underway for a staff of 100 when the plant begins production.
We sat down with the CEO of PURIS Holdings, the biggest US supplier of pea protein to Beyond and others, to learn how they are making farming more sustainable.
we ll have reports on road conditions, efforts to keep you safe and how snow can be big business, but we begin with chief meteorologist bob ryan in the storm center. the good word is this is moving fairly fast, but it is producing light to moderate snow. in some spots more than five inches of snow. snow continues. as a matter of fact, there is a band of moderate snow right now moving through loudoun county heading up into montgomery county. we are still almost all of us under a winter storm warning. it is snowing in southern maryland, too. this is at the freezing mark. most areas around the freezing mark meaning it is a wet snow. you can see the back end of this fast-moving band of snow, area of snow already beginning to move into the shenandoah valley. as we go through the nighttime hours, as we get through 3:00, 4:00 in the morning, we ll see it wind down right in town three to four inches. and to our south, too. some areas are ending up with more than six inches of snow.
