But some parents question the value of the test and whether it should really be used to inform policy – especially after last school year. Early reports of ILEARN results indicate a significant drop in math and English scores.  Standardized testing data won t be used for school accountability this year, but with billions of COVID-19 relief dollars sent to schools, officials say the data will help inform where to target resources for kids. 

New studio and sale in Goshen by sculptor Peter Woytuk

May 10, 2021 325 On a sunny weekend, the new work by sculptor and artist Peter Woytuk was met with a continuous audience of old and new aficionados at his new workshop across the street from Tyler Lake in Goshen. Internationally renowned for his large-scale sculpture such as the bulls at Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, and four life-size bronze elephants weighing 5,000 pounds each for the entrance to the North Carolina Zoo, the world’s largest natural habitat zoo, he unveiled his new direction of smaller pieces at this event. Proceeds will benefit the Kent Memorial Library, Friends of the Goshen Public Library and The Little Free Library at StoneHill, which held a pop-up with free books for all ages.
