Tyler Kijac is a cowboy. Not the most common life for a 2013 graduate of Union City High School.
Having grown up in Michigan and competing in the local rodeo circuits, Kijac considers himself a self-made Michigan cowboy. He currently resides in Oklahoma with his wife, Jenny Jo Kijac.
Kijac’s merit as a cowboy will be put to the test as he competes in Ultimate Cowboy Showdown, with host Trace Adkins, beginning Feb. 24 on INSP.
How does a Branch County native end up a cowboy? Kijac gives credit to his father.
“I grew up going to rodeos in Michigan with my dad, so from the time I was a little kid, I knew I wanted to be a cowboy,” Kijac said. “I was named after the great Ty Murray. He is, in my opinion, the greatest all-around cowboy to ever live.”
