Man charged with attempted murder, assault following officer involved shooting

View Comments A suspect captured after a man and two police officers were shot has been charged with second-degree assault and three counts of attempted murder. Demetruis Keith, 28, was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility Monday afternoon on the charges.  Montgomery police responded to the 3700 block of Lower Wetumpka Road on Saturday about 2 p.m. and found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. According to Keith s charging documents, the victim suffered gunshot wounds to the right chest wall, right thigh and left wrist.  Officers determined there was a secondary scene in the 3000 block of Tyler Court, Lt. Jarrett Williams said Saturday, about 400 feet through backyards from the initial scene. It was there that police exchanged gunfire with Keith.
