BLOOMINGTONÂ â A second Decatur man was sentenced Monday to 45 years in prison for his involvement in the December 2018 murder of a Bloomington man.
Before sentencing, Judge Scott Drazewski denied Bruce s motion for a new trial and for judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
âManipulative, malicious and mastermind,â were the words Assistant Stateâs Attorney Mary Lawson used to describe Bruce before she recommended he be sentenced to 65 years in prison â 45 for the murder, plus 15 years for the firearm enhancement because the jury believed he was armed when these offenses occurred, and five years for the robbery.
Bruce was one of three men who police have said were involved in Doverâs death on Dec. 5, 2018. Anthony Grampsas, 20, was found guilty of first-degree murder in July and later sentenced to 45 years in prison.
