With Victor Kirby at the lines, Slick Tony marched to the early lead and had the field chasing him past the quarter-pole in :27. Tiger Thompson N then made a bid for the top and after clearing to the motor he went on to post middle panels of :55.3 and 1:23. He was prompted by the parked out Tyga Hanover, and the pressure eventually took its toll on both of them. Slick Tony found room in the lane and used his :27.4 closing kick to win by three-quarters of a length over a very game Tyga Hanover. Itsrockandroll A was third.
