MACON, Ga. A Macon man is now in jail and charged with murder in the shooting death of a 1-year-old.
It happened just after 11 p.m. at the Chambers Cove Apartments at 204 Chambers Cove Drive.
That s where investigators say 1-year-old Monterrious Brown was shot.
The police report stated the child s mother, Tyceanna Brown, had allowed her aunt and aunt s boyfriend, Demetrious John Simmons, to wash their clothes in her apartment.

UPDATE: Bibb County Sheriff Investigators have arrested a man in connection to the shooting death of 1 year old Monterrious Brown.
Investigators say 28 year old Demetrius Simmons and his girlfriend went to Tyceanna Brown’s apartment to wash their clothes. Investigators found out that the gun that shot Monterrious Brown belonged to Simmons.
Simmons is in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault, and felony murder. He’s being held without bond at this time.
