Two SPOs injured in J&K grenade attack

Srinagar, March 13 : Two Special Police Officers (SPOs) were injured on Saturday in a militant grenade attack in Sopore district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police said militants hurled a grenade at the police post inside the bus stand in Sopore on Saturday.
“Two SPOs sustained minor splinter injuries in this explosion. The injured personnel have been shifted to the hospital and the area has been cordoned off for search operation,” the police said.
SPOs are specially engaged to fight militancy in J&K and also to deplete the breeding grounds for various militant outfits.

Two missing SPO’s among four militants killed in Pulwama gunfight

Srinagar: Two Special Police Officers (SPOs) who went missing barely twenty four hours ago were among four militants killed during a gun fight with the Indian forces in Panjran Lassipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning.
A police official said that a joint team of army, CRPF and SOG men surrounded the Panjra Lassipora village following the inputs about the presence of militants on Thursday evening. “While the searches were being conducted, the militants hiding in the area fired upon the forces,” said the official, adding that the fire was retaliated, leading to an encounter. He said that one of the militants was killed in the initial exchange of fire.
