How musicians will tour in 2021 Live music is coming back in Australia, but with some borders still shut and COVID hot spots in play, artists will be touring in very different ways.

Subscriber only Live music may be returning around Australia, but border closures are forcing our musicians to pivot to get on the road again. Missy Higgins has had to replace the Sydney-based members of her band with Melbourne musicians to perform shows in Victoria this weekend. Artists in Sydney s hot spot regions are being axed from some festivals while many acts are unable to lock in full national tours for fear of having to do costly quarantine in West Australia where strict border restrictions remain in place.

Our Two Skins (Remixed) on January 27th via Jagjaguwar. The collection features remixes by Helado Negro, Ryan Hemsworth, Georgia Maq (Camp Cope), Loraine James, Lawrence English, and Alex Somers. Ahead of the release, Gordi has shared the “Free Association” remix from Helado Negro whom she crossed paths with at PEOPLE Festival in Berlin. “I must have listened to This Is How You Smile a dozen times when it came out. The subtle pulses and feelings that run through the music that Roberto [Helado Negro] makes are truly unique. Hearing that same life flood through ‘Free Association’ – the closer of Our Two Skins – is very special to me,” says Payten.

In more ways than anyone would care to count, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live. Near the top of the list are the ways in which we experience music. Live music venues from concert halls and intimate clubs to festivals and cruises were hit the hardest, and the future of these performance spaces remains uncertain.
Fortunately, we still have plenty of recorded music to enjoy while we face the possibility of both a vaccine and further lockdowns.
