SALEM Two Salem residents whose child suffered injuries in September were taken into custody on separate warrants Tuesday afternoon.
Sean Hicks, 26, of 189 E. Third St., was arrested on a warrant for felonious assault and endangering children after officers located him at his residence, with K-9 Simon assisting.
Chasity Buckius, 24, of the same address, was taken into custody in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on a warrant for endangering children.
Salem Police Detective Dave Talbert said the charges stem from an investigation into injuries suffered by their 5-month-old child, who was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman on Sept. 7, 2020 and then transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron with injuries “classified as non-accidental trauma.”
SALEM James R. Pesano, 35, of Vine Street in Salem, was served at 10 p.m. Saturday with a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle out of Mahoning County. Police were dispatched at 8:59 a.m. Saturday to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive for a domestic in progress between the complainant’s son and a girlfriend but the girlfriend said it never became physical. Two male subjects’ verbal argument over a bicycle was interrupted by police at 11:51 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive. Hours later, officers responded to a disorderly conduct in the same area of Cedar Ridge Drive, after a neighbor accused another man of calling police.
