Burlington, IA- Community Action of Southeast Iowa is accepting applications for the 2022 Burlington Paint a Thon. To be eligible for the Paint a Thon, a house must be an owner-occupied, single or small 1.5-story house in need of paint, in Burlington or West Burlington. The homeowner must be an individual over the age of 55, disabled, single parents, or veterans with limited income who wish to keep up the appearance of the home, but cannot afford a commercial paint job. Applications for the Paint a Thon are available at Two Rivers Bank and Trust, Diamond Vogel Paints, or Community Action of Southeast Iowa. Applications are due by July 13th.

Keokuk, IA- A Keokuk man has been arrested following a bank robbery in April. TV Station WGEM reports that Keokuk Police arrested 37-year-old Casey Alexander Young on Wednesday, May 26th in Keokuk. Young has been charged with first degree robbery. According to police, evidence linking Young to the April 26th robbery at Two Rivers Bank at 115 Boulevard was located while police were carrying out multiple search warrants.
