2 York elementary schools close due to COVID-19

Two Central York elementary schools are closed through the end of the week or later because of rising coronavirus cases.
Sinking Springs Elementary closed Dec. 7 and will reopen Friday. North Hills Elementary closed Thursday and will not welcome students back until Dec. 20, according to the district’s website. Students at these schools will study remotely until they can return for in-person classes, officials said.
“This closure will provide an opportunity for our maintenance and custodial staff to clean and sanitize the building and campus and is an attempt to continue preventing the spread of COVID-19 within our schools and facilities,” the district wrote online.
