Bronx prosecutors charged both Donald Johnson, 20, and his older brother Rakell Hampton, 33, with murder, manslaughter, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon at their arraignments in Bronx Criminal Court.
Dereck “Chop” Velasquez, 29, and Eric Colvin, 26, allegedly sold 25 semi-automatic pistols, five revolvers and three assault weapons, as well as 15 large capacity clips and approximately 80 grams of cocaine, to the undercover over the course of the four-month investigation dubbed “Operation Chopping Block.”
The 16- and 17-year-old students were spotted by school safety agents passing the tan-colored gun back and forth just after noon Tuesday in the schoolyard outside Bronx Mott Hall school in Claremont, school safety sources said.
