FAIRFIELD, CT Two Bridgeport men face several felony charges after stealing and forging numerous checks from a Fairfield resident s mailbox, according to police.
Jimmy Ray Joyner, 24, is charged with second-degree forgery, third-degree larceny and conspiracy, police said. Gregory Swinton, 27, is charged with second-degree forgery, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy, according to police. Both were arrested last month, police said.
The case that resulted in charges being brought against Joyner and Swinton began in December, when a Stillson Road resident put several checks in their mailbox, according to police. The checks were then stolen, forged in order to pay higher amounts of money to people who were not the original recipients, and used in transactions at area banks, police said.
