Two Bossier City, LA, teenagers were killed Wednesday in the crash of a single-engine aircraft on the East Reservation of Barksdale Air Force Base.
Jet Andrew Montgomery, 18, and Jonathan Cole Harris, 19, died in the crash. Both young men were recent graduates of Airline High School. Montgomery was a freshman at Louisiana Tech and, according to the FAA pilot database, was a student pilot. Harris was not listed in the pilot database.
At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, local air traffic controllers lost radar contact with the aircraft over the east side reservation of Barksdale. The installation was notified by the Federal Aviation Administration at 5 a.m., and first responders were dispatched for a search with intent to rescue operation.
