In a first-of-its-kind, a comic book depicting folktales of three major tribes of Manipur, namely Mao, Maram, and Poumai– inhabiting Manipur s Senapati district was recently released at a function in Imphal on Saturday.
The comic book was written by Th Kirankumar, the deputy commissioner of the Senapati district with an objective to introduce a comic book for the children so that they can digest it easily and it will also help in preserving the lifestyle, traditions, and culture of the tribe.

NEW DELHI: The Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim NSCN (IM) has expressed dissatisfaction over Nagaland Lok Sabha, Member of Parliament, Tokheho Yepthomi s presentation of the Naga political dialogue with the Indian government in the Lok Sabha on February 13.
A press statement issued by the NSCN (IM) on Sunday stated that the conspicuous failure of Tokheho Yepthomi is noticed when he could not even quote the correct date of the signing of the historic Framework Agreement, and usage of misplaced political terminology like Naga underground and militants .

GUWAHATI: The BJP on February 15 named Biswajit Daimary as its candidate for the by-election to the Upper House from Assam.
It is to mentioned that Daimary earlier joined BJP after quitting his Rajya Sabha seat as a Bodoland People s Front MP.
Daimary has been thrice elected to the House since 2008 and had quit soon after he preferred to join the saffron party.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge will be replacing Ghulam Nabi Azad as the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
