Reporter Wilmington Police say they were called to the apartment on the 800 block of west ninth street around 3 45 monday morning. They say the woman was worried about her immigration status. She feared she was going to be deported because her boyfriend victor apple had been arrested days before on immigration charges. Police saw the fiveyearold and did not feel the children were in danger. Sadly, officers would return about four hours later to a heartbreaking and gruesome scene after she called 911 saying she had drowned her two children. She was pretty matter of fact her admission that the two children were dead. Our officers discovered them in the back bathtub. According to court papers she dropped the four month old in the tub, turned on the water and left him on his back as the tub filled. But one thing they know for sure is that they do want a barrier put up on this stretch of road. They were out there today with supporters who say they will keep coming out until something is done.
