Arizona’s Copper Canyon Fire grows to 2,650 acres
A brush fire that broke out Friday east of Phoenix, Arizona, has grown to 2,650 acres, according to the state Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
The Copper Canyon Fire was about 35% contained as of Sunday night, the department said on Twitter. Fire crews are focused on monitoring the blaze’s southern and western edges, according to the fire information system InciWeb.
The fire was most active in the northeast corner while the majority of the fire area remained quiet Sunday, Inciweb said.
Firefighters will continue to secure the fires edge and patrol for hot spots and flare ups over the next few days.

After burning
4,171, the Tussock Fire remained 0% contained and pushed toward Crown King as of Monday morning, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
Evacuation orders for Minnehaha, Fort Misery, and Horsethief Basin remained in effect as well as road closures for Senator Highway (FS Road 52) between Hooper Saddle (FS Road 362) and Crown King (FS Road 259), while Crown King itself remained closed to non-residents, according to Deputy Scott Reed of the Yavapai County Sheriff s Office.

at set status in the Ready, Set, Go fire prep, and residents were advised to begin preparing in the event an evacuation order is issued.
