Lithuania appoints Brussels rep as vice foreign minister

The European Commission s representative in Lithuania, Arnoldas Pranckevičius, has been named among the deputies to the country s new Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis.
The others include conservative politician Mantas Adomėnas and diplomat Egidijus Meilūnas.
Pranckevičius has headed the Representation of the European Commission in Vilnius for the last four years. His past career includes positions as adviser to former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and diplomatic adviser to two presidents of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek and Martin Schulz.
Adomėnas served as a member of parliament between 2008 and 2020. He ran for an MP seat in a single-member constituency in last October s elections, but lost.
