The Turkish Consulate in Chicago is coordinating donations of money and supplies to be sent to earthquake survivors following Monday's 7.8 magnitude quake.

Leaders of various faiths led those gathered in prayer and song, moving many in the crowd to tears. The death toll from Monday’s temblor is estimated at 21,000.
About 150 people attended a vigil for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, including Mehmet Deniz of Hoffman Estates, who has lost more than 100 family members.
