School parents dropped off their kids for the First Time Since quarter of a cup of mercury was found on the campus and some say six days later they still have questions i want some clarity on the amount . Why did it take so long for them to communicate what was going on . Theres plenty of questions, but im glad they took the precautions they did to make sure the kids are safe we got a look at some of those precautions taken insi the gym where ccsd says the mercury was found and the area the epa said had the highest levels of contamination 10 to 15 times higher than the levels considered safe for kids. During the cleanup, workers took out a chunk of the gym floor. Crews also ripped up the carpeting that was right here at the entrance of the gym, saying that students may have tracked the mercury onto it as well many of those areas were removed for procautionary measures to make sure that we removed any material that be contaminated as for what all that clean up work will cost .
