COLUMBUS, Ohio IMG Academy’s defensive tackle Nick James is one of the 12 recruits offered by Ohio State in his position group. Saturday night, James announced that Ohio State made his cut list of just six programs.
He shared via Twitter that LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Oregon and South Carolina were also finalists. James’ top 12 had also included Alabama, USC, Wisconsin, Penn State, Arizona, UCF and Georgia.
The four-star recruit is the nation’s No. 181-ranked player, No. 16 tackle and Florida’s No. 21 player. At 6-foot-2, 278 pounds, James totaled 30 tackles, an interception and a sack in six 2020-21 games. Andrew Ivins, a 247 Sports recruiting analyst, compared him to the Las Vegas Raiders’ Gabe Wright.

Texas A&M got a bit boost to their defensive line class with the commitment of five-star Shemar Turner on Saturday, and the news got even better tonight with the commitment of four-star Tunmise Adeyele. A&M just got the top two pass rushers in the Lone Star State to commit within the span of five days.
Tunmise, a former Ohio State commit, chose the Aggies over Alabama and Florida. And while Tunmise is a four-star, he’s about as good of a four-star player as you can get. He is ranked as the No. 37 player in the country, and the top 34 players are five-stars. He is also ranked as the No. 6 Stronside Defensive End in the country and the No. 7 overall player in Texas.
