Winnipeg police are reminding motorists that while Monday is Louis Riel Day, reduced speed limits in school zones will still be in effect with maximum speed limits of 30 km/h around many Winnipeg schools from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Enforcement may be in place.

Eight days of concerts, online competitions and kids events will highlight this year’s Festival du Voyageur as the annual celebration adapts to COVID-19 restrictions.
“The 2021 virtual programming will allow Winnipeggers and beyond to experience all the sights, sounds and even woodchip and tourtière smells of the festival,” organizers said in a release announcing the change on Thursday.

Festival enthusiasts will be able to watch two different video series, get traditional meal kits from Promenade Cafe and Wine, ice glasses and festival-themed cocktails from Patent 5 Distillery and view nearly 30 snow sculptures around the city.
