CBN ‘naira-4-dollar’ policy may increase foreign remittance to $34bn Tope Omogbolagun The Central Bank of Nigeria’s ‘Naira-for-Dollar’ policy may increase the country’s foreign remittances to $34.89bn by 2023. Forecast by PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the big four accounting firms, had suggested that Nigeria’s remittance flows could reach $34.89bn by 2023 if the policies were right. PwC in the forecast noted that the growth in remittances is subject to global economic forces, which could spur or hinder growth of remittance flows, growth in emigration, economic conditions of residing countries and poor economic fundamentals in the Nigerian economy. The forecast revealed that as of 2017, the highest remittance came from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom, Cameroon, Italy, Ghana, Spain, Germany, Benin Republic, Ireland and Canada.

US Consulate promises improved service for Nigerian visa applicants

Punch Newspapers Sections Tunde Ajaja The United States Consulate General in Lagos said on Friday that visa applicants in the state and American citizens in Nigeria would now have a better experience following the renovation of its consular pavilion. Speaking during the opening of the pavilion, the US Consul General, Claire Pierangelo, noted that the renovated consular pavilion would provide a safe space for visa applicants to maintain social distance while waiting for their appointment. In a statement on Friday, she said the Consulate was working hard to reschedule the visa applicants that were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pierangelo said, “For most Nigerians and US citizens in Nigeria, their main interaction with the US Consulate is through our consular section. The Consular customer experience is something we continuously improve on. This new pavilion is an example of that effort. Sule, Dogara joyous as Nasarawa PDP members join APC

Kigbu once represented Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State at the House of Representatives. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Kigbu defected with thousands of his supporters at an elaborate ceremony in Lafia.
