For the upcoming Batley & Spen by-election in West Yorkshire, a group of Left-wing MPs have warned Sir Keir Starmer that the Labour candidate absolutely must be working-class.
The only trouble is, they can’t agree on what working-class means.
One definition they’re considering, apparently, is “people who have to work in order to provide sufficiently for themselves and their families”. Critics, however, fear that this definition is possibly a little broad, given that it encompasses virtually everyone in the country apart from Lottery winners and Prince Andrew. Doug Carroll. Credit: TVP THAMES Valley Police (TVP) is appealing for the public’s help to trace a missing 29-year-old man. Doug Carroll, from Tunbridge Well, Kent, was last seen on Tuesday (April 20). He is described as 6ft 3ins tall, of slim build with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he is believed to have last been seen wearing dark jogging trousers or shorts and a hooded jumper. He was reported missing in Kent and it was thought he may have travelled to the Reading area in Berkshire. Ongoing investigations have located Mr Carroll’s vehicle near the Ridgeway at Compton in West Berkshire.
