One of the Pacific Northwest s more iconic beer brands has paused production indefinitely.
Known for its ubiquitous gold cans, straw-yellow pour and light taste, Olympia Brewing Company announced that it will halt production of its lager after 125 years in business due to reduced sales.
Now owned by Pabst, the company started in Tumwater in 1896 by Leopold Friederich Schmidt, a German immigrant. The affordable lager grew into a popular regional name during the 20th century.
