CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas Dr. Rick Fernandez, the superintendent for the Tuloso Midway Independent School District, was placed on paid administrative leave on Thursday. John W. White, the Assistant Superintendent for Leadership and Learning with the TM ISD, confirmed Fernandez leave with 3News.
The details behind his leave are limited. District leaders said any further employment action will be determined by the school board. At this time, school leaders said they cannot comment further on personnel matters.
Fernandez has been the superintendent for the district since Sept. 2020.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The mother of a Tuloso-Midway Intermediate School fourth grader, says it s only a matter of time until a child gets hit by a car on the way to school or while coming home from school.
âThe area is growing, and thereâs more houses coming up, Martha Juarez said. So thereâs more traffic flow. So the odds (of an accident) are greater.
Juarez believes more stop signs are needed near the school and stop lights along Rand Morgan Road a few blocks away.
Tuloso Midway students head to state for UIL One Act Play

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas Theatre students at Tuloso Midway High School received the red carpet treatment Wednesday as they head to state. The drumline led the group of thespians throughout the high school as fellow students cheered.
The group is competing in the UIL One Act Play State Competition. It will be taking place in San Antonio this weekend.
