(December 21, 2020 / JNS) The Tufts student body passed an anti-Israel referendum last month, announced the student-run Tufts University Elections Commission last week, despite the commission finding violations in the election process. The anti-Israel resolution, which was introduced by the school chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), rebuked former university police chief Kevin Maguire’s participation in a 2017 program, sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League, in Israel where U.S. law-enforcement officials train with Israeli police forces.

Instead, Manning was tapped for the Education and Labor Committee. Additional committee assignments are likely to be announced in January.
