A high school senior in Leominster who missed her graduation after testing positive for COVID-19 was honored during a special ceremony on Tuesday.Candida Pereira Dufrechu, 18, was heartbroken that she couldn t attend Leominster High School s Class of 2021 graduation ceremony on June 5, especially since she is the first person in her family to graduate high school. I have cried it out this whole time, so I just don t have emotions right now, she said at the time. It hurts. Pereira Dufrechu regretted not getting her COVID-19 vaccine and decided to encourage fellow teenagers to get the shot, something that didn t go unnoticed by Leominster High Principal Steven Dubzinski.
