Work continues on the site of the former Tudno Castle in Llandudno Developers of a Grade II listed former hotel site have lodged plans to increase the number of bedrooms by more than 40 per cent and reduce the number of restaurants. The former Tudno Castle Hotel site in Llandudno, which has been empty since 2008, has been beset by problems and delays since permission was granted to turn it into a Premier Inn. Work started in 2017 but had to be halted over safety concerns the building might collapse due to its poor state. Demolition work began again in 2018, with final proposals for the £10m 63-bed hotel containing five restaurants and a business unit given ultimate consent in October last year.
The work will see a right turn lane implemented from Conwy Road to Mostyn Broadway. In a public notice published in the
Pioneer, Conwy County Borough Council revealed that roads - including Vaughan Street, Mostyn Street and Mostyn Broadway - would be closed for a maximum period of nine weeks from Monday, January 25. Conwy County Borough Council has made an order to enable a new road layout construction, the notice added. The effect of which will be to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of road specified in the schedule and to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to park in those parking bays specified.
