Authorities in the Tucson area issued evacuation and shelter-in-place orders for different parts of the city as a result of a deadly crash that led to a HAZMAT situation involving leaking nitric acid.
The trailer contained the liquid form of nitric acid, which is highly corrosive. People within half a mile were evacuated and people within a mile were told to shelter in place.
People who live within three miles of a crash on Interstate-10 near Tucson, Arizona, have been asked to shelter in place due to potentially hazardous material in the air.
