TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The 65th women’s basketball meeting between rivals Florida State and Miami takes place on Thursday night at 8 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The contest will air on several of the ACC’s regional sports networks, including Bally Sports Sun. The Seminoles (8-7, 2-3) lead the Hurricanes (9-6, 2-3) in the all-time series, 48-16, and have won the last seven games played in Tallahassee. FSU is coming off an impressive 67-52 home win over Syracuse on Thursday, using its strong defensive play to force a potent offense like the Orange into shooting just 30.4 percent (17-of-56) from the floor. In that matchup, a full-court attack by Syracuse that typically wears down its opponents did not execute against FSU, which shot 58.3 percent (7-of-12) in the fourth quarter to close out the win.
