general of florida at one point. what more can you tell us about this hire and what it means for the president s legal strategy. reporter: this is a lawyer now joining the trump legal team. we expect him to represent the former president in court on thursday. he is the former florida solicitor general, someone who has argued cases before the supreme court. he worked with florida governor ron desantis on his transition, and he s been working for a decade plus at a law firm, although he s left that firm. but this is someone who has a good reputation, seen as a respected lawyer, who knows the florida courts, which is very important, because that is where this legal battle is playing out. and frankly, it s someone who is coming into the game a little late. the trump team has been looking to a lawyer for weeks, so this is someone they are hoping will bring the kind of expertise and gravitas and knowledge of the local courts to the trump team in order to represent the former president. i
