Andrii Yusov, a spokesman for Ukraine's military intelligence agency (HUR), hinted on April 4 that drone strikes on military facilities inside Russia will continue and "their range will increase."
Ukraine targeted industrial facilities in Russia's Tatarstan on April 2, around 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border, a source in Ukraine's military intelligence agency (HUR) told the Kyiv Independent. The targets included a manufacturing facility for Shahed-type attack drones, said the source, not authorized to talk to the press.
"(T)he distance of the targets from Ukraine's borders represents a significant inflection in Ukraine's demonstrated capability to conduct long-range strikes far into the Russian rear," the ISW said.
A fire broke out in Russia's city of Kursk late on April 2, according to videos sent by eye-witnesses to several Telegram monitoring channels. Kursk Oblast Governor Roman Starovoit claimed that four drones were shot down over the city and surrounding areas.
