Traditional leaders living within the Joe Gqabi and Chris Hani district municipalities have appealed for help from the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) to address the poor state of rural roads.
Tsomo residents used Friday’s Eastern Cape presidential imbizo, convened by President Cyril Ramaphosa, to appeal for the construction of a public hospital in the small town. Poor rural infrastructure, unemployment and hunger were some of the other main concerns raised by residents from the Chris Hani and Amathole district municipalities during the gathering.
The Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development met with the AmaTshatshu Traditional Council at Gwatyu yesterday to receive their input on their land claim.
