During the strict lockdown levels South Africans endured in 2020, members of the Lejweleputswa Cycling Club had to contend with major setbacks that affected competitiveness and fitness levels.
The club was established in 2019 and is dedicated to providing a positive and safe environment for aspiring cyclists to develop.
“We believe cycling yields benefits in health and outlook for a lifetime,” said Errens Ziqubu, one of the driving forces behind the club.
Despite the challenges that 2020 brought the club, they are determined to succeed in cycling.
“The club has 20 members, and we are looking forward to more joining us in 2021. Because we are still a new club we face financial constraints, which we hope to overcome this year,” Ziqubu said.
