Global leaders extended their congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his ruling alliance secured a majority in the Lok Sabha elections, ensuring his third term in office. Leaders from Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, among others, expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with India under Modi's continued leadership.
Expressing similar sentiments Nepal PM Prachanda wrote, “Congratulations to PM @narendramodi on the electoral success of BJP and NDA in the Loksabha elections for the third consecutive term. We are happy to note the successful completion of the worlds largest democratic exercise with enthusiastic participation of the people of India.”
India is likely to invite leaders of a number of its neighbouring countries, including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, to the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the weekend, people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The swearing-in ceremony is tentatively scheduled for June 8. Despite the BJP not achieving an outright majority, the NDA’s coalition secured a robust 293 seats in the 543-seat Lok Sabha, surpassing the majority threshold of 272 seats. - Newsx
